It's Go Time

Del Mar knows that there is no point letting snow get in the way of having a productive day. As the holiday buzz finally dissipates and we find ourselves blanketed in Chicago winter, we are grateful to reflect on our own busy days. Five days into 2021, we executed a lease agreement completely filling a 12,000 SF medical office building that has sat vacant for several years. The momentum continued and soon after, we signed a lease with a yoga studio, a new restaurant concept, and closed on two residential deals - one which fell out of contract and went back into contract within 48 hours.  Between new deals, new clients, and new experiences we are constantly given the opportunity to learn.

In addition to new opportunities in real estate, Amanda was invited by Jennifer Pereira to be a guest lecturer and project partner at Johnson & Wales University and present on Real Estate Investment and Development Strategies. Pulling on years of professional experience in real estate and law, coupled with starting and managing her own business, she aims to explore the considerations, challenges, and planning that go into any real estate venture. Outline the process of research, design, and development will enable students to engage with a real world application of their academic knowledge.

As we continue to expand outside of our comfort zone, we give ourselves opportunity to grow, experience new things, and refine our understanding of the world. This last year has been a tough one, and it is easy to let that discourage you about what this year could be. A constant and consistent desire to learn, the freedom to explore our interests, and the ability to help educate others are just some of the ways we have managed to stay engaged in our lives and communities. Let us know what has helped keep you sane during these difficult times, and ask yourself how you can get outside of your own comfort zone!

Kris' Sandwich Board Art of the Month

What do two former presidents and a Dr. Seuss character have in common? They all recognize that a little bit of imagination can radically change the world around us. Whether it's taking independence from colonial rulers or fighting for equality in an unjust world, the ability to think about how things could be rather than just how they are made these individuals exceptional. We can't really do anything about last year now, but this year could be anything you want.

Good Clothing Company

Some say the future of American made fashion is automatic, while others opt for a more artisanal approach through customization and smaller production runs. Good Clothing Company is a sustainable apparel production facility at the forefront of bringing the US apparel manufacturing industry back to life, with an added human touch.

Since inception, the company has been bridging the gap for emerging and independent designers looking for quicker turn-around times and lower minimums.

With a desire to raise the bar for women in the fashion industry, Kathryn Hilderbrand, set out with 30 years of experience to bring her small batch manufacturing business to fruition. A single mother raising her children, Hildrebrand humbly started Good Clothing Co. by opening up a commercial account with $7.35 from recycled bottle returns.

The company employs a talented all female team of design consultants, professional seamstresses, pattern makers and stitchers. A house line of sustainable apparel utilizes natural fabrics to accentuate the female form. All signature cuts are inclusive to a wide array of body types and pants includes a customizable inseam option. Clothes should be made to fit you, not the other way around.
