Overwhelmed by the Comeback?
If real estate memes have taught us anything, we are all aware that it is nearly impossible these days to successively go "under contract" on a home without a cash offer or fully underwritten loan, offering over the asking price, and likely going into the transaction having only viewed the property virtually or "sight unseen". This has become the new norm in the residential real estate world, but what about commercial? Initial thoughts go that it must be hurting right? Think again.
In my 11 years as an active real estate broker, I have never experienced situations in the commercial world where landlords and owners are able to make a decision among multiple letters of intent. It has, welcomely so, become my common practice in the past couple months. Buildings that have sat vacant for a year or more are being shown multiple times. Empty storefronts are now being noticeably filled. Commercial businesses are thriving due to increased cash balances in people's bank accounts, and the fed buying bonds which inject trillions into the money supply. However those same businesses are also having trouble finding people that want to come back to work. It is hard not to think that this can all be some sort bubble that is prone to burst? But hey, we are all resilient and prepared for that at this point right?

The heart of Chicago’s famed Meatpacking district, today called the West Loop, commonly known as Old Noble Square, is a place where 100-year-old family run meat packing companies continue to thrive. Identical to New York’s meatpacking district which is where Google maintains its Corporate NYC Offices at Chelsea Markets. Site location abuts neighbors, both family ran enterprises, whereas Tempesta Market is a delicatessen meat market proper, whose operators draw inspiration from Italian culinary tradition. The other abutting neighbor is a Great Chicago institution, Bella Notte, a signature place for fine Italian family cuisine. Operating over 25 years, this iconic spot is a hidden gem that will be around for generations to come. Immediately next door is The Artistic Home, best theater in the Chicagoland area bar-none, a true find and a mainstay for many famous Chicago Actors. The anchor of the block is the location for offer, formerly Oggi Trattoria, a long-operated neighborhood favorite. This site thrives on longevity and authenticity.
The West Town community area supports a growing population of 85k and 38k total households. With the majority of the population below 50 years of age, and a median Household income of over $100k. Over 55% of the community areas are renter occupied housing. Daniel La Spata is the local Alderman, as the property is located in Ward 1. The West Town Chamber of Commerce throws the annual West Fest which started in 2004 and has slowly become one of Chicago's well attended street festivals which is partly attributable to the extra wide streets on Grand which used to support food vendors and retailers over a century ago.

This globally acclaimed showcase features original and authenticated works associated with, arguably, the most intriguing and talked-about artist in modern history. On display are prints, canvasses, screen-prints, sculptures, unique works and limited-edition pieces mainly dated between the years 1997 to 2008, the period which resulted in Banksy’s most recognizable and well-known works.
The exhibit features iconic works such as ‘Girl and Balloon’, ‘Flower Thrower’ and ‘Rude Copper’ alongside some of Banksy’s lesser known masterpieces. Banksy is most infamous for his outdoor art which can be found in streets all around the world. Banksy’s indoor pieces - original and unique works on canvas, wood and paper - have been less exposed and are also on display at this exhibition.
